2004: Compilation of posts from the old crashed page

1 November 2004

I’m back in Australia and managed to rack up 20137 United miles. Yeowch. My usual installment of “Fiona visits the world’s libraries” will be online soon.

My conference paper is available at ALIA’s site.

Where in the world is Fiona? :) I’ll be overseas from the end of the ALIA conference until the end of October. Here’s a map of the countries I’ll be visiting -

Feel free to email me while I’m away but I will not be checking my email very frequently, and I will not be checking my work email at all (spammers are going to have a field day).

Plenty of new songs have been added to the library songs page (many thanks to everyone that sent in their suggestions!), and I’ve also created a page for my ALIA2004 presentation.

New standards-based style sheet! Lots of minor tinkering all over the site, I hope you enjoy the new colour scheme, and after 4 years, a new banner image. And just to clear up any confusion - this page is a changelog/site update page, not a blog. There are dead blogs on this site, but this page isn’t one of them.

The Movable Type error appears to be server related (Perl module problems). But on the path towards better site management, I attended a XML course that has changed the way I think about site structure and management both for work and other sites, so expect to see some big changes soon, especially on the Babypop site.

New link to my portfolio .

Movable Type is still down, I’m probably going to change to a new CMS soon and dump MT in favour of something to manage the whole site. The blogs are going to remain static. Lots of other updates elsewhere, especially on the songs page .

If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to for the last couple of months, check out the site for Babypop , a 60s French club that a couple of friends and I have been running in Sydney.

Movable Type appears to have crashed on my server due to a CGI error, I will rebuild it this week. All entries on the blogs are visible but I am currently unable to add any new ones. The stylesheet for this site has changed slightly, please let me know if it causes you any problems. Most of the about me pages have been updated.
