New York

I’ve arrived in New York City, and I love it already. We had just enough time to walk through Rockefeller Plaza before the sun set. The weather is pretty terrible here, driving sleet, but the city is fabulous regardless.

It was bittersweet leaving Chicago - I felt like we didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted, but at the same time there were a few events which made me glad to leave. I had a much closer look at the American healthcare system than I ever wanted, courtesy of my first brush with anaphylaxis while at Evanston. Everything they say about American hospitals is true - they really do ask you about your healthcare and insurance status the second they wheel you in to the ER. But besides that, the standard of care was excellent and recovery was speedy.

Welcome to New York! The weather is always shitty here in March, sorry to say.

Spend as little time in Midtown as you can.

    See you next week!
