Home at last, after 7 weeks away. It’s always strange to come home and feel like you never left, save the film of dust that’s settled on everything.

After New York City we spent a couple of days in Montreal, then back to the US for four days in San Francisco. On our last day in town we went to UC Berkeley to use the library, and unknowlingly ended up there on CalDay, the annual Universities of California open day. There were massive crowds everywhere enjoying Berkeley’s parks and open classrooms for the day. The library even had open stack access for visitors on the day. I browsed the library school texts, including a few Jesse Shera books. Fabulous.
