Wiki wiki world

I’ve signed up to and been editing a few wiki pages in various projects lately. While some librarians are a little hesitant about wikis, particularly Wikipedia, I am a big fan of them. Perhaps even more so since Steven Cohen pointed to the Wikipedia live changes site [unfortunately now offline due to high traffic].

I added a couple of things to the unofficial ALA wiki (which I’m not attending, but I was on holidays in Chicago in March), and in the past have worked on the Figure Skating page at Wikipedia. I’m currently working on filling out pages on my local suburbs in Inner-West Sydney, and I’ve joined the WikiProject Librarians page.

Lastly, I’ve signed up to Lawrence Lessig’s Code and other laws of cyberspace wiki. Fittingly, the only edit I’ve made so far is to correct the spelling of ‘Sydney‘.

By the way, I am amused to see that Sudoku is the featured article on Wikipedia today. It’s become quite the rage here in Sydney.
