I am entirely unsure as to whether this is ironic or just plain annoying - this morning I updated my iPod with the latest episodes of my podcasts, I clicked on the Inside Mac podcast. Click, iPod goes into grey apple reboot mode and my entire iPod is hosed. Ok, so I was looking for a way to remove a couple of songs but this is ridiculous. If a mp3 file has errors it really shouldn’t be causing my iPod to go into apoplexy.

Even worse, I’m not the only one.

Update: Turns out the problem is either mono podcasts or the new chapter facility in iTunes podcasts. Whatever the case, updating the iPod through iTunes restored the index and my music was safe. Relief!
