A conference I could love

Now this sounds like the kind of conference I would dream of attending -

Next Generation Libraries – what does that mean for us? Mash-ups, tag clouds, ontologies, BitTorrent, Flickr, YouTube, e-learning, Gen Y…He Huarahi Whakamua we’ll take up the challenge to embrace all that Next Generation Libraries means for us!

LIANZA 2006, to be held in beautiful Wellington, New Zealand, to boot.

Update: Another reason why LIANZA sounds so great this year, Stephen Abram will be there. [via VALIS]

You think we can get them to foot the plan ticket bill if we present a few times?

    Great idea :)

For me the problem isn’t so much the cost of getting there (Sydney-Wellington is surprisingly inexpensive, and I have a friend who lives there) but rather that it’s in October nestled amongst several other events - every big library conference in Australia and New Zealand happens from September-February every 2 years, so we have chaos for 6 months, and nothing for a year and a half. They really need to be spaced out. Still, fingers crossed!
