As mentioned, NLS2006 is just over a month away now. The finish line, in more ways than one, is drawing ever closer and I’m definitely in the stage of checking things off, completing lots of small administrative tasks, and starting to pull files together to write my final programme report.

At this stage, conferences really should start to run themselves. The tasks that need to be completed make themselves evident, little problems seem to resolve themselves, and eventually the jigsaw puzzles fall into place. It has been a long two years, but a fun, challenging and rewarding two years, and I’m confident it will be a great event.

The next step is to consider how to conblog this event, which is something I was discussing with fellow committee member Sean on Saturday. There is wifi in the building, but we may not have access to it. We were discussing some combo of using hand-held devices, mobile phones (with i-mode or web access) with some kind of laptop connection to post.
