As a rookie Japanese learner, I am always on the lookout for things to read. Given that there are more Japanese-language than English-language blogs, and that there are a great number of libraries in Japan, I decided to take a look at what’s out there.
I won’t be able to read them, but I could translate with Babelfish to try and get a sense of what’s happening over there. Although, as a member, I get IFLA’s RSAO newsletter, which focuses on events in South East Asia, it’s great to get steadier updates through blogs too.
I couldn’t see any Japanese blogs on LISZEN, so I did a fairly crude search for 図書館学 (library science) or 図書館 (library) and ブログ (blog) and came across Doshina Liblog and Library & Copyright ( 図書館と著作権あれこれ ). Yamanakoko
( 山中湖情報創造館ブログ - 指定管理者 図書館 -) among hundreds of others.
Is there anyone with far better Japanese skills than me who can make a good list of ones to watch and add them to one of the library-blog wikis?
This would be great to have - something like Global Voices Online, but for the liblogosphere. I’d love one for Chinese (have found some liblogs), but have yet to come across blogs in Indonesian and Malaysian written by librarians…
