ALA 2008

One of the articles I’m working on as a co-author at the moment is for ALA Annual 2008 (Alyson is also a co-author on this one - check out her awesome new blog!). The article was initiated by a wonderful colleague from NLS2006 - I’m so impressed with how he managed to get a paper into the programme.

So although I won’t be at Annual this year, there will be a small group of Australians heading over for Annual 2008. It will be my second, after attending 2006 in New Orleans, but the others will be first-timers. I’m really looking forward to sharing the experience with them (ALA is 15 times bigger than the largest library conference in Australia) and catching up with all the wonderful librarians I met in New Orleans.

Only a year away!

In the next five years, other than Anaheim, ALA Annual will meet in Washington DC, Chicago, NEW YORK CITY, and New Orleans again, and you picked the one in DISNEYLAND as conference worth coming to?

Fi, that is so wrong!!! I’ll be glad to see you (and Pete?) again, but I can’t sure that I’ll even go to that conference. Ew.

Hey, we missed the deadline for this year’s programme in DC, see? ;)

I am not looking forward to the idea of Anaheim either but you know how it goes, I’ll be there for 4 days and then get the heck out. Besides, I love Disney as a total cultural train wreck. :)

Pete will be along for the ride, but he’ll be taking off to Tennessee while I’m at ALA!
