I’m coming up to 5 years on my current blog, though there various sporadic attempts before that. I think my first actual webpage was pre mosaic but I am an old fart afterall

I was trying to think last night of an obvious benefit… but I think the benefits are more subtle and are a bit like stepping stones in the mix. For example, blogging has given me an amazing network of people to talk to, ask questions of, and learn from. From that, papers and invitations etc have come about in a tangental way.

I think blogging has made me more motivated to keep up with other blogs - as you say it would be hard to maintain momentum if all you was doing was reading.

For me, blogging has taken time away from writing, but given the huge amount of writing I’ll be doing over the next couple of months I guess it serves me right

I do also wonder how blogging will evolve over the next few years, but who knows what form it will take?

I haven’t a clue if I’ll still be blogging then - I do expect to have a web presence still but what form that takes, who knows!
