I’ve decided to call it a day with this blog. It’s been going for almost 7 years, and has seen me through four jobs, two countries, my wedding, lots of changes in focus, and many many holidays. I started it when I had no idea how to get involved in the profession, and through times […]
Archive for the 'General' Category
Blisspix.net will be taking a short hiatus while I reevaluate the blog. My interests have taken a major shift lately and I want to take some time out to plan posts for the next few months.
Semantic Library is being updated regularly at the moment, feel free to take a look!
Alyson over at Chapter Two has a great post on managing professional development. We all know we should do it, but for some of us managing all the things we want to do that fall into that category can quickly spiral out of control. She writes,
“Something that I’ve always struggled with, personally and professionally, is […]
Take a look at the fun and engaging way that Les bibliothèques de l’université d’Angers are promoting their LIBQUAL+ survey this year (via Marlene’s Corner).
LIBQUAL+ often comes across as being a bit, well… dry, but this is a great example of the library not taking itself too seriously and having fun.

It has been with us for many years (I remember floppy discs being copy-protected in the 80s) but recently technical protection measures have increased, impacting what and how we lend from libraries.
There’a lot of blogs looking at examples of DRM in libraries (for example check […]
I missed two milestones in the past month:
The 10th anniversary of my first website
The 6th anniversary of this blog
It seems unbelievable that I’ve been blogging since 2001. Feels like a long time now. I didn’t use any software then, and there was no RSS feed. Many of the posts I added while using MovableType crashed badly at some point, […]
